Elan Leibman is becoming a man and we had to document this special time in his life for his upcoming Bar-mitzvah. Elan has a passion for skateboarding so we decided it would be perfect to head out the the Jamil skatepark by downtown. I was actually really excited to go out there and photograph him. I'm a big kid at heart and I was just thrilled to be able to get out there and live vicariously through the kids skating around the park. I found some colorful spots that would be perfect for his portrait along with a great colorful sidewalk with the Houston skyline as our backdrop.

Mesita at Houston City Club

Mesita Partridge is the new wedding and event coordinator at Houston City Club. I was recently invited to be a part of their bridal show. Jessica and Edwin contacted me a little before the holiday season to do their engagement photos. Edwin is the military and is stationed abroad and they didn't have a lot of time, but really wanted to have an engagement session before he left. We met in one of my favorite spots. We had a great time strolling through the park and finding a good spot for them to snuggle in. The wind was so strong that day. Luckily, by the end of the shoot Jessica was warm enough and brave enough to shed the jacket for a few shots with the beautiful fall foilage in the background. I think it was well worth it. After they saw these shots they decided to select me for their summer wedding.

I love that I get an opportunity to photograph couples when they are all in love and then when their growing love is so strong for one another it starts to grow...aka baby bump. Angela and Adam are one of my best friends and I am so lucky I get to be apart of their life and get to capture all the fun moments they have together. They are and have always been so cute together and I am so thrilled that they have a little baby girl on the way. I met Noora and Marwan in the Museum District. They told me they wanted something urban and modern, so it was the perfect spot for us to do their E-Session. We had a great time looking for intersting backdrops to use for their photos. So many great ones! I really loved going into the light tunnel. What a perfect backdrop. Noora brought her sisters along for the shoot and they were a great help with her blowing hair on such a windy day. One of her sisters gave me the best compliment. She said my photos look like a sexy music video. I love hearing that!

It's always fun when couples come back to me after they have started their lives together and ask me to photograph them and their new baby on the way. Summer and Bob's Wedding

Summer and Bob married on November 12, 2009. They had a small and intimate ceremony held at Summer's parents home with only their closest friends and family. Summer's parents have a beautiful Mediterranian style home which was a perfect setting for their ceremony. The reception/party was held at The Gallery. It was a huge party for all of their friends and family to enjoy. It was a combination of culture and traditon for Summer and Bob. The couple was announced by a Mariachi band and danced the night away with a DJ and two percussionist. Later guests were entertained by a belly dancer and enjoyed hooka pipes on the patio. It was a perfect fall wedding. The night was crisp and everyone had a great time! Look for Summer and Bob's photo in the new Modern Luxury Houston Brides magazine.

I decided to help my boyfriend out with marketing his new bar The Lot on Washington. Football season is now here and he just installed a huge screen tv for the outside patio. It is really awesome. Its about 10ftx14ft. and it is super clear. So, I thought what a better way to get the guys attention to let them know The Lot is the place to be to watch your favorite teams is by taking some great photos of the hot bartenders that work there at The Lot. The girls loved the idea and this is what we got! Come check out the bar at 4214 Washington and look for the Big Red Sunshine in the sky. Nidhu & Oneil One Year Anniversary

A mutal friend of ours introduced us to one another. Nidhu and Oneil had already been married for one year. Their parents arranged for them to marry in India. Since most of their friends and family here were unable to make it to the wedding they decided to have a big one year anniversary party at The Parador. They are meant for one another. They are so sweet to each other and they look like they belong together. They had a colorful and festive party with lots of dancing. The party lasted all night I heard. They took the after party to Reign Lounge and danced the night away.

I always hate to hear when brides walk away from their wedding day not happy about their photos. It's really the only thing you have to look at to remember your big day. I know how important my job is and I do everything I can to make all my brides happy. Suhair was not happy with her photos that another photographer had taken and she had seen my photos and cards at Maison de Mode. She wanted photos that she was proud to hang on her walls and show off to her friends and family.

So, she called me and we made a date to take some photos. We decided to start with some studio shots first just because of the heat outside. I didn't want her to melt to much. It was fun to be able to take some with her hubby too. We set out to one of my fav spots for bridals and because she was already married, we decided it would be fun to jump into the water and just play. She loved the last photo. Sometimes really great things come out of something gone wrong. I'm glad I was able to give them the photos they always wanted and will always cherish!

Suhair & Karim were already married when I met them. They contacted me after they saw my work hanging in Karim's cousins bridal salon Maison de Mode in the Village. Yohko & Daniel Wedding

Yohko and Daniel are one of the sweetest couples I have ever met. They are so gentle with one another and we're a delight to work with. I was really happy with all the photos I got from their wedding and engagement session. It doesn't hurt when you get to photograph to very photogentic people.

They had the best get away I have ever seen. It was a surprise to me, but when they exited the church Daniel had borrowed one of his friends Vintage Mini Cooper to use. The car is bright orange which help with the whole comic factor that was about to unravel. First of all, it took them some time to be able to get Yohko and her dress to fit in the car. Everyone was crying laughing, including me. Well, this is were it got really funny. We figure out that Daniel doesn't really know how to drive the car. He told me later that he only took a couple of lessons. He was trying his hardest to get the car to start and to be able to drive off. After a few tries and help from the bridesmaids pushing from behind, they were off like they were in a race. Luckily, I was able to move out of the way in time. It was a little scary watching them take the curves out of the church. Luckily, their adventure quickly came to an end and they switched cars on the other side of the church Memorial Drive Presbyterian . That set the tone for the rest of the day and it was fun, fun, fun after that at Maggiano's.

Natasha & CJ Wedding

Natasha and CJ held a small but intimate wedding at one of my favorite places Brenner's on the Bayou. It was the perfect spot for a Saturday late afternoon wedding. Everyone enjoyed amazing food and fabulous wine. I love this last photo. We had a lot of fun making it. Natasha had seen a photo like this and asked me if I could do it. I of course said "Yes". I love when brides have ideas for photos and then I get to re-create the image for them or we just get to play with the idea and create something new. Her family and friends that helped create this photo had a lot of fun thinking of new words to make. Natasha and CJ got a little extra surprise when they saw the proofs.

These photos are from the third and last day of the celebration of Regina & Veynu. This day was in celebration of Regina's Christian religion. It is so beautiful when couples embrace each others religion with an open mind and an open heart. That is the only way a marriage/love can conquere all. It is truly beautiful! We had a blast on this day. The ceremony was held at Memorial Dr. Methodist Church and the reception was held at the Marriott Westchase Hotel. Again, they celebrated with 500 of their closest friends and family. Everyone danced into the wee hours of the night. What a party!!! I really enjoyed getting to know all the families and all of the friends. Everyone was so sweet! Regina and Veynu are an amazing couple and I wish you guys the very best of life.

Regina & Veynu held their Hindu ceremony at Sri Meenaskshi Temple in Pearland, TX. I love shooting here! I forget I'm in Texas. I always feel like I'm far away in India when I step into this temple. I had so much fun shooting Regina & Veynu. First was Austin for their E-Session and now it is time for the pre-party celebration. We started their nuptial celebration at the home of Veynu's parents. They gathered together with their family and closest friends to celebrate. The party gathered in front of the house to watch as Regina & Veynu hopped into the back of their modern chariot (a BMW) to take them down the street to their party at clubhouse. Everyone followed along with them and cheered them on their way. It was quite the scene with the music blaring. All of their neighbors came out to see what was going on and stood at their doorstep and wished them well as they went by. R&V were lead by an amazing group of musicians, who were flown in from India just for their big day. How awesome is that! They had the most amazing Indian food I have ever had. Yum Yum!

Tamara, Klye and I had an interesting start to our session. We planned to meet at the Natural History Museum by the fountain. Tamara called me and said they had arrived and were parking and would meet me soon. Well, 20-30 mins. had past and I was definitely worried by this point. I had been calling and it was going straight to vm. I even went to security at this point to let them know what had happened and my concern. As I was walking out of the museum and back to the front of the fountain I spotted them. They took a little longer then they thought they did get prepared for the shoot and had left the phone in the car. I was so relieved to see them. Luckily, it was a nice cool day and I really didn't mind relaxing and waiting. The moral of the story for any of my future couples....Don't forget your phone!

Tamara and Kyle are truly in love. It was evident with the short time (1.5hrs) I spent with them. We had a great time walking around the museum district capturing photos. They are so sweet and so into each other. It was great! They wanted a natural environment with lots of trees, so that was the perfect place to go. I love that area, because there is so much versatility. I try to find new areas to shoot in every time I go, to give each couple a unique image. Less the 2 weeks before the big day! :)

Regina & Veynu are college sweethearts. They've been dating for the past 8 years since they first met at UT. Regina finally has graduated and will beginning her residency soon. For now she is busy planning their 3 day Hindu and Christian wedding for this weekend. Veynu is still at UT studying and working hard to earn his PhD in enginerring, so we decieded to go to Austin to do the engagement shoot. We went to Laguna Gloria where they wanted to tie the knot, but because they place doesn't hold their 500 guest they opted for another spot. I love to travel and shoot in new locations so I was up for the adventure. We started the shoot at of course the UT campus and then we shot the rest at the LG. They told me they were a little shy when we first met but it just took a little warming up for them. It didn't take long for them to start striking their own poses. We had a great time and we were able to get some amazing images. I can't wait for the wedding this weekend. It's going to be a blast to photograph. So many colors so much tradtion. It's truly a blessing to be able to capture such special occasions.

We met by the museums and the flowers were looking gorgeous this day and they are a very sweet and dear couple. We went to the Japanese gardens which was a perfect setting for them since Yohko is originally from Japan. The gardens were in full bloom just as they were.

Wow, how time flies! It's been a crazy couple of months for me. After the holiday craze, I moved into a new place. I hate moving, but I love my new studio/townhome! It makes all the diffrence in the world when you find the perfect place. Just as I settled into my new place, it was time to get busy again. My boyfriend opened a sports bar/lounge called The Lot on Washington. Of course I had to help with the decor. It's not your typical sports bar. Its filled with amazing illumenating photos by me of course and paintings from Kevin Schelski. It definitely gives it a cool lounge feeling. The Lot is a laid back neighborhood bar with a great patio and jukebox, you can even bring you dog. On Friday and Saturday, DJ Mark G spins old school. Trevino Family Holiday Shoot

I met up with the Trevino family a couple of weeks ago to shoot their annual holiday photos. We met over at the Rice campus to capture the beautiful fall leaves and the grand architecture.

Henry works at Rice and knew just the spots he wanted to have their photos taken. I had the chance to work with one of my friends. Ray Cortez is actually an awesome videographer and producer. Care to Chat? Well, oh course I would love to you. This was a great event for young ladies and their mothers. I sure wish I knew about this when I was growing up. Mrs. Karen Chitty-Boe with Memorial Hermann Sugarland asked me to photograph this event. It was very informative and moving. Mothers and daughters were invited to this event to meet with doctors, peers and survivors to learn about the female body and how to survive the changes we will experience through out our lives. Fellow photographer Alisa Murray was on hand to share her experiences working with the Breast Cancer Survivors from her photo calendar. Many moving stories were shared that touched my heart and soul. Life is so precious! Growing up and into my twenties I never really realized how precious life is. I really value every moment I have with my friends and family now. I feel so blessed to be a photographer and have the opportunity to meet all kinds of people that are amazing and are incredibly courageous. My blessings go out to the Boe family for their lost.

Alexis & Chase's Wedding

Alexis & Chase finally were able to get married. After having to postpone their nuptials because of Ike. They were married at Pariso Marvilla and luckily they hadn't suffered from any damage. That place is so beautful it's like your in a Spanish villa. They were able to reschedule a few weeks later and all was wonderful. They had a perfect evening, the weather was crisp and everyone was ready to celebrate. They are the two sweetiest and easy going b/g, I think I have ever worked with. Angela & Adam's Wedding

Angela and Adam were married on September 27, 2008 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. They had the most beautiful and romantic wedding, she brought tears to everyone's eyes as she walked down the aisle with her father.

Angela wore a dress by Lee-Ann Belter from Maison de Mode in the Rice Village. The ladies from the store loved the bridal photos I took of Angela and are using one of them for their ad in Weddings in Houston magazine. This weekend they are also hosting a trunk show for the designer (Lee-Ann Bleter) worn by Angela. If you are looking for a dress, visit Brenda 0r Priscilla at Maison de Mode. They have some of the most beautiful dresses in town.

Angela is one of my best friends so I played double-duty, photographing her and being a supportive friend. It's been an absolute pleasure. They are such the perfect couple, known as Ken and Barbie amongst our friends. It's obvious why. They are completely head over the heels in love with one another and I'm so happy I was able to be a part of their very special day. The next step is babies.....and I can't wait! They are going to make such gorgeous little ones!

Stephanie & Stuart Rosen's Wedding

Stephanie & Stuart were married over Labor Day weekend at The Rockerfeller Hall. They are the sweetest couple. They had a beautiful wedding with their closest friends and family. Angela Baumann's Bridals

Angela got hitched in Vegas and told me she loves classic cars. I was able to borrow my friends convertibale Cadilliac for the shoot. I found this cool warehouse wall that was faux painted that I thought would work perfectly with this shot. She loved it! We started the day shooting simple but "Pretty in Pink". That is her favorite color. Then we went over to a beautiful park I like to bring my brides. We had a blast!!!

Alexis and I took her bridals at Pariso Marvilla were she married Chase earlier this month. She was suppose to get married in September, but because Ike decided he was going to invade on our turf the same weekend she had to postpone her wedding. Such a gorgeous bride!

Im finally back in action. September was a tough month for me and many others living in Houston. I was without power for almost 3 weeks. Luckily, no physical damage to my home/studio. Im so glad to be back!!! I stayed busy through it all. I'll be posting what I've been up.

The Knot Vendor Party

Last Thursday I was asked by The Knot to photograph the Houston Vendor Party held at the Rice Lofts and Hotel downtown. The party was a "Green" eco-friendly themed event. How apporpriate for Sunshine Winters to shoot the event...just sticking with the theme. Jesicca and the ladies from Green Lilly Events did a fabulous job putting together the event. I had a chance to see some friends and to make new ones. Holly at Stems by Holly did a great job with the floral arragements. Bright Star Productions did an awsome job with the special effects and DMX supplied the sweet smells of the night. I love that stick I got in my goodie bag. I just love the smell of pina coloda....it takes me away to paradise every time.

Pat Brown's B-day Party!

I was invited to photograph Mrs. Pat Brown's 60th birthday party at Ouise's Table. Pat looks stunning at 60. One can only home to look as beatiful as she. She has a beautiful family and lovely friends whom she shared a wonderful birthday with. Her grandkids are as cute as can be. Great times for a great family!

DJ Ji Ji Sweet and DJ Dimepiece

This past weekend Houston held the 3rd annual Ozone Awards held at the George R. Brown. I was asked to photograph these lovely ladies DJ Ji Ji Sweet and DJ Dimepiece for their new mixtape produced by Cornerstone promotions in NYC. I met them over at the Hilton Americas hotel next to the convention center and we headed up to the pool area to grab these shots. Levi's was sponsering the shoot, which explains all those Levi's bags. The ladies were so sweet and fun to work with. If your ever in LA check DJ Ji Ji Sweet out on 100.3 at 4pm or Saturday nights from 7-12am. If you find yourself in Ohio, turn on 101.1 The Wiz and listen for DJ Dimepiece. These ladies got the beats and know how to mix it up!

Adriana & Justin had a beautiful garden wedding on June 13, 2008 at the Courtyard at St. James Place. They were just too cute together. You could see how in love they were. I never saw them away from each other all night. Justin just wrapped Adriana up in his arms and she held on tight. They make an adorable couple. I wish them the best.

Heather & Toma Engagements

I met Heather & Toma in one of my fav spots early Saturday morning. We thought we would beat the heat. It turned out to be a sizzling morning. We walked around the park and soon after our session started the heat began to take over us. The water looked so nice and cool. I asked them if they wanted to get in and Toma was ready, but Heather wasn't quite breaking a sweat yet and it didn't really look like jumping in the water at the park was her thing. Well after an hour into the session and we were all dying for some cool water. I mentioned jumping into the water again and this time she was game. They had a blast playing in the water and especially cooling off. I was still burning up, but it was a lot of fun capturing them playing in the water. Next time I'll remember to bring some towels...just in case.

Pearland Town Center Opening

July 30th was the Grand Opening for the Pearland Town Center. I was asked by my client to come out and photograph the event. It was fun event filled with lots of activites and shopping. It was pretty hot that day, but people didn't seem to mind. They were eager for the free giveaways and to get their shop on. That's always fun! :)

Babes & Beaus Charity Event

I had the privalage in participating in this great event to raise money for kids with cancer. On June 20th Lucky's Pub and The Candlelighters Foundation hosted their second annual Babes & Beaus event to raise money for children and their families suffering with cancer. Rod Ryan from 94.5 The Buzz was there to help each of the babes & beaus get auctioned off on a fun date that raised over $38,000 this year.

We had a bit of a hard time getting Alain to this shoot. Im glad we finally found him. Of all the days to forget your cell phone, Alain. :) Im glad we found him, because he was so much fun to work with. What a natural he his. Alain knows all the right moves. He knows just how to carress Adriana for the camera. They wanted me to make sure I got a good shot of their backside. What a cute and fun couple!

Jennifer & Chris Engagements

When I first met Jennifer & Chris over at Hermann Park they seemed to be a lil nervous, but it didn't take long for them to get in the mood of the session. Chris told me right way which side was his best side. I got him to stop thinking about that and to start focusing his love and energy towards Jennifer and before I knew it, he couldn't keep his hands off her. Needless to say we had alot of fun discovering new spots for them to love on each other.

Lara & Justin were so sweet together. We went back to the spot were Justin popped the big question. Luckily, the rain finally stopped and we were able to get some great shots by the Wortham Fountain. Adriana and Alain were the cutest couple. They've been together for 8 years and finally made it down the aisle. They had a fabulously chic East meets West style wedding, along with their cute lil' doggies they dressed up. The bridesmaids looked so fashionable, straight out of Sex and the City. These guys know how to through a party. 500 of their closest friends and family joined them. They had Vegas style entertainment and only the best in cuisine to offer their guests. What an event!
